Hi, I'm Luis.
Chemical engineer by training, tanner by trade. With more than 17 years in the leather industry, I've worked nearly every side of it — production floor, sales table, and boardroom negotiation.
I built and ran my own tannery in Mexico, where I distributed finished leather to footwear and automotive interior brands including Florsheim, Gillio, Brantano, Flexi, and Mastin, among others. Running my own operation taught me how to spot a shade mismatch from across the room, how to hold the line on quality when a tannery pushes back, and how to actually close the deal — not just spec it on paper.
Today I work as an independent leather consultant and B2B sourcing agent through Munger Designs, managing sourcing, buying, and quality control for brands and manufacturers worldwide, connecting companies to tanneries across Mexico, Brazil, Chile, the USA, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, China, and beyond. I speak the language of both sides of the table: the brand that needs a reliable partner, and the tannery that needs a clear, serious buyer.
